General Information about Flies
Flies are an almost unavoidable annoyance in most houses, particularly during the warmer months. They are one of the world's most prevalent insects. They reproduce and eat in filth, which includes waste, faeces, and rotting or rotten food.
While these pests are mostly only a nuisance, they can transmit a variety of diseases that are harmful to both humans and pets. House flies feed on germs, fungus, and viruses, which they subsequently disseminate by polluting food and drink. They are known to transmit over 100 diseases, causing illnesses such as typhoid, TB, cholera, and dysentery.

What to Look For - Signs of a Fly Infestation
House flies can be a real nuisance when they are flying around. But they can also transmit diseases, so it is important to get rid of them. House fly control is not always as easy as it sounds. There is often more involved than a fly swatter.
The adult flies are the most common sign of activity.
- They prefer corners and edges or thin objects to rest on
- Indoors, they rest on floors, walls, and ceilings during the day
- Outdoors, they are found on plants, the ground, fence wires, garbage cans, etc.
- Waste products around the home increase the chance of a house fly infestation
